Tui

Tui is endemic to New Zealand which means it can only be found in New Zealand. They are dying out because of humans destroying their home. They can only be found in our shores

They are a medium sized birds that grows up to 30 cm. They have  brown feathers on their back and flank . They use their sticky tongue to reach the nectar of its favourite long petaled flowers. It's easy to spot the tui because of the poi, that's two white fathers under its chin.

The Tui is most commonly found in the north island and south coast of south island. They like to live in trees in rainforests, by beaches,in bushes and any place where it's calm.

Because they are dying out , people (i mean us) are cutting down their homes we are forcing them to go away and cats are trying to eat them. If we don't go and do something about it we are going to lose out beautiful bird.
